Astor Court Skylight
The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Removal and replacement of the existing skylight above the Astor court Asian ArtGallery.
Since the art could not be de-installed, the retrofit required a unique and innovative temporary waterproofed platform for the duration of the project. The new state of the art skylight covered a nearly 7,000 square foot area.
We acted as the general contractor for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and oversaw the entire process, which included logistics planning of the removal, protection of existing art work, the temporary waterproofing, glass air and pressure testing on site, rigging, and the installation of new purlins, rafters, beams, and glass.
